Before you simply guess

This number is often printed on your gas bill once or twice a year.
You can contact your gas utility and ask for a usage history.
The average volume for a residential home in Ontario is 3,500 m³/year
The average volume for a residential home in Alberta and Manitoba is 4,000 m³/year, which is 150 GJ/year.
The average volume for a residential home in Maryland is 2,500 m³/year, which is 900 therms, or 890 ccf.
